Monday 19th May – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny and warm.

Foil – 18.35 knot max, 16.50 knot ave., 12.82 knot hour, 15.10 knot mile, 37.84 km., 12.67 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

The forecast looked great for today with wall to wall sunshine with a 15 knot easterly building for the afternoon the only slight drawback being high water around 5 making The Manor the only local option as there would be very little beach at The Dip and I have already broken a foil there landing! So nice morning at home with just a quick drive to the Spa Gardens to take some weather pics which proved a waste of time before returning home to do my exercises in the sunny back garden! Then with the breeze increasing I decided to hitch the trailor and drive down to check out The Manor arriving just after one and parked easily in Squiz lane and with 15 knots blowing it was all systems go! The foil board was quickly set and and my 6.5 rigged despite having another broken battern, the poor old and very well used sail is in desperate need of some repairs but should replace it really so am looking for a Tushingham Bolt, Storm or Thunderbird 6.5 if anyone has one gathering dust in their garage please let me know! Launching OK this time I was soon up and flying and very rarely coming off the foil doing 9 long runs out to the shipping channel with gybing much better today being out nearly 2 hours I didn’t go in once! Nothing fast today as I spent a lot of the session slowly beating towards the pier and the sea was too rough to push things too hard but I had some with the waves, I was joined on the water by Al Wizz on his fin board and 7.5 and Chippers having a lunch break wing! With the tide getting near high and tired I decided to call it a day and landed with no problems, another top session in the sunshine at The Manor:)
